Hi. Katie here. I’m a California native with an obsession with the outdoors. My best and most relaxed mind happens when hiking Martis Valley in Truckee or Briones in Pleasant Hill.

Born in the Bay Area, my career in events began in 2009 at The Ritz-Carlton, both at the Lake Tahoe and San Francisco properties. What a perfect job; their training program is unlike any other. You are told to do whatever it takes to ensure expectations are exceeded each and every time. I worked alongside some of northern California’s best chefs, planning events for their five-star restaurants. I transitioned into an event role working with meeting planners on their multi-day conferences, fundraising galas, and leadership summits.

My true passion for weddings began in 2013 at West Shore Cafe & Inn, a beautiful property on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Here I directed, planned and executed over 75 weddings per year between both West Shore Cafe and Homewood Mountain Resort.

I am now based in Concord and work at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, a leading science museum at Pier 15 along the Embarcadero. We host corporate events with up to 3,500 guests + daytime meetings/conferences + social events. I also plan a lecture series with The diaTribe Foundation, CPS Lectures. I generally head to Tahoe once per month to connect with couples, vendors, and venues and to relax at the lake and ski on the mountains.

I started KtB Events in 2016 after numerous friends and family members asked for planning help and advice. It is incredible being able to turn something I love into a business. I will take under 10 weddings per year to ensure everyone is getting my full attention and care. I feel the most important aspects of the wedding include good food & drink, beautiful scenery, intimate sunsets, and lively music. Let’s create a space where unforgettable memories are made alongside the most important people in your life.
